What Is Trustpilot?

Trustpilot is an independent consumer review platform. It has no affiliation with the sites mentioned in this post. On Trustpilot, users can anonymously rate and review companies they have used.

Overall, there are over 150 million reviews on Trustpilot. You can generally get a good understanding of the legitimacy and customer-friendliness of a company.

How Does GreenJinn Work?

Once you have downloaded the GreenJinn app for iPhone or Android, you can save money immediately. Browse the products of each supermarket and add the ones you want to your shopping basket. Be mindful that offers are specific to the supermarket.

Then, head off to the shops and buy the products. Back at home, use the app to take a picture of the shopping receipt. GreenJinn then awards cashback. Once you have £1.50 of cashback, you can cash out via PayPal or bank transfer.

How Much Money Can You Save with GreenJinn?

GreenJinn doesn’t reduce your supermarket spending to zero. The app doesn’t have most essential items, so you can expect to save a pound here and there, not more.

Offers also change frequently, so you must be open to trying new things to keep using the app. Even if you do this, you can only save maybe £5 per week. This is how much you could save if you took advantage of all offers per supermarket:

SupermarketTotal Savings
Sainsbury’s£32.64
Waitrose£38.71
Tesco£37.36
Morrisons£24.02
Savings per supermarket.

Remember that most offers won’t be relevant to you. Offers also overlap between supermarkets.

Friend Referral Scheme and GreenJinn Reward Code

GreenJinn does not operate a friend referral scheme. However, GreenJinn has an influencer program giving selected people reward codes.

If you are looking for a GreenJinn reward code, use the code KHKCYCEN. This is not my code but the one I used when I signed up. You get a £1 cash bonus for using it.

Pros and Cons of GreenJinn

Pros

  • The app is free and helps you save money.
  • Occasionally, you can get freebies.
  • There are many different supermarkets on the app.
  • Payout is generally quick, with a low threshold (£1.5).

Cons

  • Only a few products are available for each supermarket.
  • Offers change quickly, so it is easy to miss one.
  • There is a risk of wasting money if you buy products you do not need.
  • Your receipt can be rejected.

Alternatives to GreenJinn

If you do not like GreenJinn, there are alternatives:

  • Shopmium is a receipt-scanning app based on the same concept as GreenJinn. You can select products on the app, buy them, and receive cashback. Read more in my Shopmium review.
  • Shoppix also is a receipt-cashback app like GreenJinn. Read more in my Shoppix review.
  • Another alternative is CheckoutSmart. Read more in my CheckoutSmart review.

If you do not want to use an app, use coupons. While extreme couponing is difficult in the UK, coupons are still a way to save money.

GreenJinn Review Summary

GreenJinn is one of the best receipt-scanning apps. It helps you to save money on your supermarket shopping by offering discounts. Buy these products, take a photo of the receipt, and get cashback. Offers vary, but GreenJinn is free, meaning there is no reason not to download it and try it.
