Shopmium Review 2024 (Referral Code Q2766A)

This Shopmium review shows you an easy way to reduce your grocery bill without much effort. You will learn about its features, including whether the app is worth using.

What Is Shopmium?

Shopmium is an app that gives you discounts on groceries. When you buy a product listed on the app, Shopmium refunds a proportion of the price as real money. All you need to do is take a picture and scan your receipt.

Eli Curetti, Philippe Cantet, and Quentin de Chivré started Shopmium in 2011 in France. In 2015, Quotient Technology bought the app. Today, Shopmium has offices in Paris and London and works with over 500 manufacturers.

Is Shopmium Legit?

Shopmium is a legit app and not a scam. Quotient Technology, which owns Shopmium UK, is registered with the company number 07775437.

On Trustpilot, the Shopmium app has an average rating of 3.2 out of 5.0. Over half of users rated Shopmium “excellent” (53%).

While this shows that Shopmium is legitimate, there are also a few negative reviews. Most people complaining about Shopmium cite either of the following reasons:

• No response from Shopmium’s customer service.
• Missing cashback after completing an offer.

The latter might be due to incorrectly completing the offer. When using Shopmium, you need to ensure you:

• Buy the right product
• At the Correct supermarket chain and
• Complete the steps to request cashback correctly

Is Shopmium Safe?

Shopmium is safe. The app encrypts your details and sends them over a Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Shopmium also states they comply with the National Commission on Informatics and Liberty.

When signing up, Shopmium asks for your name and payment details. If you do not want to give Shopmium your bank details, use PayPal.

How Does Shopmium Work?

With Shopmium, you can get money back on your grocery purchases. You can choose products to buy on the app and head to the shops.

Back home, you can request cashback by scanning the product barcode and receipt. Shopmium then processes your request. Within three days, Shopmium pays you the advertised amount.

How to Sign up to Shopmium

To use Shopmium, download the app. You can browse through the offers without creating an account. However, if you want to request cashback, you must sign up. Signing up and using the app is free.

You can create an account by signing up with Facebook or entering your details. I joined with my email address since I don’t like Facebook accessing my data.

After signing up, add your bank details or PayPal address to receive cashback.

How to Request Cashback

Once you have signed up, you can request cashback. To do so, select an offer and view the details. The app tells you how much you can save when buying a product.

You must go to the stops where this offer is available to get the discount. Then, you need to buy the correct product (size, flavour, brand). Make sure to keep the receipt.

When you are back at home, scan the receipt on Shopmium. Take a picture of the product’s barcode under “Request my cashback”. Shopmium then processes your cashback request and pays you. Payout options are PayPal and bank transfer.

What Offers Are Available on Shopmium?

The offers on Shopmium change weekly. If there is nothing you like, you can check again later. Offers cover a wide range of grocery products, including:

You can often find the same offers available at multiple supermarkets. There are only a total of 24 different offers. Offers change often and will likely differ when you use the app.

It is not worth buying extra products just to move up the levels. If you use the app normally, you should eventually progress to Gold. Then, it’s easy to stay there by submitting one cashback request every month.

2. Shopmium Friend Referral Scheme

Apart from buying discounted products, you can make money by referring friends. Shopmium has one of the best friend referral offers.

For each friend you refer, you earn £3 when your friend cashes out. Then, when you buy a product, you get the discount plus your friend referral credit. This means you can get free products with the friend referral program.

What Should You Be Aware of With Shopmium?

With Shopmium, you only get cashback if you fulfil the conditions of the offer. Based on the negative Trustpilot reviews, many people struggle with this. When buying a product for cashback, check that:

• You are buying the product in an eligible supermarket.
• The product is from the right brand.
• You are buying the correct product size.
• The offer has not yet expired.
• You request cashback within the specified timeframe.
• You have a valid receipt.
