Yes, JamDoughnut really pays. Here is one of the payouts I received from JamDoughnut in my Monzo account:

Below, you can see my total earnings with JamDoughnut.

How Does JamDoughnut Work?
JamDoughnut is free to use. On the app, you can buy gift cards. For each purchase, you get a percentage of cashback. This cashback accumulates in your JamDoughnut account. Once you reach the payout threshold, you can withdraw it to your bank account.
JamDougnut doesn’t state how they make money. However, typically, cashback apps make money from listing brands on their site. They may also receive a commission when you make a purchase.
1. Signing up to JamDougnut
Download the JamDoughnut app from the Apple App Store or Google Play for free. Signing up is easy: you only need an email address. Don’t put a space between “Jam” and “Doughnut” when searching for it. You may also have to add the word “cashback”.
Enter code 6SOB, and you’ll get £2 free cash when signing up.
2. Buying Gift Cards
To buy a gift card, search the retailers until you find the one you want. Then tap “Purchase Securely” and choose Apple Pay, Google Pay, or payment by bank. I always choose banking app payments as it offers more cashback.
Search for your bank and go through the authorisation process. Then, your gift card will instantly appear in your JamDoughnut wallet. You can scan it to pay in high-street shops or enter the voucher code if you shop online.
Tip: When you are out, for example, at a restaurant, ask for the bill. Then, buy the relevant gift card with JamDoughnut for the exact amount you need.
3. Withdrawing Money
Once you have £10 in cashback, you can cash out. Head to your wallet and tap “Cash out”. You will then see a screen showing your bank details. Tap “Confirm” to proceed. Your cashback should be in your bank account within five days. You also get an email confirmation.

How Can You Make Money With JamDoughnut?
1. Earn Cashback
Of course, cashback is the main way to use JamDoughnut. However, I prefer to think of cashback as a way to save money. The reason is that you have to spend money first.
2. Friend Referral Scheme
JamDoughnut has a generous friend referral scheme. When a friend signs up with your code, they get £2 free cash. Then, when they first cash out, you get £4 free cash. You get this cash for each friend you refer.
3. Giveaway
Every day during the Jammy Dough livestream, JamDoughnut announces a random winner. The lucky person gets £100. Personally, I don’t think the livestream is worth watching, but you can tune in to decide for yourself.
How Much Cashback Can You Earn With JamDoughnut?
How much money you can save with JamDoughnut depends on how much you spend. JamDoughnut doesn’t report average user savings. On the website, one user states they save around £30 per week. This is realistic if you are a high-spender.
Personally, I calculated that I save around £10 per month or £120 per year. This doesn’t sound like much, but I also stack JamDoughnut with other cashback offers. Plus, using the app is little effort.
What Are the Pros and Cons of the JamDoughnut App?
JamDoughnut Review Pros
- You can get cashback on supermarket shopping and from many other retailers.
- The app is reliable and easy to use.
- JamDoughnut has a great sign-up offer giving you £2 free cash.
- Gift cards are active immediately.
JamDoughnut Review Cons
- You can’t add gift cards to Apple Wallet, though there is a button.
- You cannot link your bank card.
JamDoughnut vs TopCashback, Which Is Better?
There is no clear winner between JamDoughnut and TopCashback. TopCashback operates differently from JamDoughnut.
Instead of buying gift cards, you click on the links on the website to make a purchase. You can’t use TopCashback when you pay in-store, for example, at supermarket checkouts. There is some overlap in cashback offers. However, overall, the two apps fulfil different purposes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can You Stack JamDoughnut With Other Cashback Sites?
JamDoughnut is a payment method, so you can combine it with coupons and vouchers. My currently preferred method is to:
- Scan my Nectar card (because Sainsbury’s is my nearest supermarket).
- Pay with a JamDoughnut gift card.
- Scan the receipt with Shoppix (Shoppix review) and Shopmium if possible.
What Is Cashback?
Cashback is a way to save money when you make a purchase. For example, if you buy something for £100 with 2% cashback, you get £2 back. Cashback sites make money by earning a commission when referring you. They then pass on some commission to you.
