However, if you know how to use Vinted, the platform can be a profitable side hustle. Luckily, there are some easy hacks to improve your sales.

1. Target the Right Audience
People on Vinted are looking to buy things for cheap. High-ticket items may not sell well and are better placed on other selling sites such as Vestiaire Collective.
Good items for Vinted are well-worn second-hand clothes that you are willing to sell for a low price. Vinted is not a platform for commercial reselling. As such, prices are not high enough to make it profitable for these people.
2. Interact With Vinted
One of the best tips for selling on Vinted is to interact with the platform. Browse, like content, and occasionally buy something. This will keep you in favour of the algorithm, meaning your posts get more views. More views equals more sales.
3. Sell Regularly
Sellers report more success with selling on Vinted when listing items regularly. If you have a bunch of items, list one each day rather than dumping them onto the platform all at once.
If you have a few items, listing one every Friday and Saturday seems to be the optimal strategy. Admittedly, I’m more of a small fish seller on Vinted. Thus, I usually list one or two items per month on either Friday or Saturday.
4. Bundle up Your Items
Vinted is a discount selling platform. This means selling one or two items may not be profitable or even worthwhile given the shipping cost. Vinted bundles are a feature that allows you to sell different items together.
To create a Bundle, simply choose items from your listings. You can do this by ticking a box in your listings view.
Buyers can then buy these items together or make an offer for a new price. You can accept or reject these offers. I find that offers only come from people trying to lowball you. Be careful what you accept.
5. Raise Issues on Vinted
If you have any issues while using Vinted, don’t be afraid to raise them. You can raise issues on Vinted through the Communication Centre or directly in the conversation with a buyer. Simply click or tap “I have an issue”.
Vinted can be a bit slow to respond but, thus far, all my issues have been resolved.
6. Use the Bump Function on Vinted
Bumping items is a paid function of Vinted. It means your item is displayed higher in members’ newsfeeds. This increases your chance of selling. Again, more views equals more sales.
The cost of a bump depends on the duration (3 or 7 days) and the price of the item. You will see the price when you select the bumping option.
Bumps are defintely worth it for more expensive items. In my experience, it’s not worth bumping cheaper items as it reduces your profit too much.
7. Take Great Photos
I’ve mentioned this in several of my reselling posts. Taking great photos is essential and really one of the best tips for selling on Vinted.
People are visual, and if they like your photo, they are more likely to buy. Thus, pay attention to the light and make sure your pictures are clear.
Below is how I edit my photos. All I do is:
- Increase saturation
- Add highlights
- Increase brightness and contrast
It only takes a few minutes, but it makes my photos look so much better.
8. Use Hashtags
Hashtags help people find your listings. Thus, you should definitely use them! Your hashtags should be specific for each item you sell. Include:
- The item type
- Who it is for (women, men, children)
- Features
9. Get Free Shipping on Vinted
Vintage does not offer free shipping by default. Shipping is only free for first-time buyers and first-time sellers. If you want free shipping on Vinted, you have to look for sellers who have not made their first sale yet.
The only other way to get free shipping on Vinted is to negotiate with the seller. The best way to do this is to buy a bundle. This way, the sale is still profitable for the seller.
