What Is Storewards?

Storewards is a receipt-scanning app. Basically, you take photos of your shopping receipts, submit them to the app, and get a monetary reward.

Storewards is also the successor of Receipt Hog, a receipt-scanning app that closed down in 2020.

Storewards is owned by Ourcart, a market research company. Ourcart was founded by Daniel Rejzner, Avi Heletz Sufrin, and Guy Bauman in 2015.

The company is based in Israel but Storewards is also available in selected other countries, including the UK. In 2020, Ourcart launched Storewards.

Is Storewards Legit?

Storewards is a legit app and not a scam. On the App Store, Storewards has an average score of 3.0 out of 5.0 with over 1000 ratings. It also has over 100,000 downloads on Google Play.

How Does Storewards Work?

With Storewards, you can take pictures of your shopping receipts. Just like with its competitor Shoppix, you simply need to take a clear picture with your phone’s camera.

This can be a receipt from grocery shopping or any other receipt. Just be aware that the receipt should not be older than 14 days.

For each upload, you will receive coins. Once you have 20,000 coins, you can cash out to get a £2 Amazon voucher. You can also cash out PayPal cash (£10 for 100,000 coins).

Signing up to Storewards

Downloading and using Storewards is free. To get the app, simply search for it on Google Play or the App Store. It is available for both Android phones and iPhones.

The sign-up process is simple and will only take a minute. (You just need an email address and a password.)

If you sign up with the same email address you used for Receipt Hog (the app that closed down), you will get 10,000 coins to get started.

Ways to Make Money on Storewards

1. Scanning Receipts

Scanning receipts is the main way to earn coins on Storewards. You can upload up to five receipts per day and 20 receipts per week. This somewhat limits your earning ability.

You will get 600 coins for each receipt. This means you can earn 12,000 coins per week. You can also top up your earnings through some other methods.

2. Connecting Accounts

You can get bonus coins from Storewards for connecting your Amazon and email accounts. This enables Storewards to track your online purchases.

For an Amazon account, you will get 2000 coins and for your email account, 1000 coins.

Note that these are one-time bonuses. Generally, I do not think it is worth giving up some of your privacy for this little reward. But of course, the decision is up to you.

3. Getting the Daily Bonus

You can also get a bonus for logging in every day. The bonus starts with a low amount and will increase for seven days. After seven days, it resets and you need to start a new streak.

The amount of coins you can get ranges from 10 to 50. This is not a lot but it is quite easy to earn.

4. Level up

You can level up your account by scanning receipts. Every time you reach a new level, you will get a coin bonus. Be aware that as you level up, your speed slows down and it will take you longer to reach a new level.

5. Referring Friends

Storewards used to operate a friend referral program. Users could get 1000 coins if they referred a friend and 250 coins if they used a friend referral code.

However, the friend referral program is currently closed. Existing codes are not working.

How Much Money Can You Make With Storewards?

Like other receipt-scanning apps, Storewards is no way to earn a full-time income. It is just a way to make some extra pocket money so you should not expect too much.

If you are uploading the maximum number of receipts, you can get 624,000 coins per year. If you log in every day, you will have an extra 11,000 coins.

Thus, you would earn £63.5 per year or £5.30 per month.

While this is not huge, it is more than what other receipt-scanning apps pay. However, it is also not the highest-paying receipt app.

Storewards Registration Closed

Storewards registration is currently closed. This means that you cannot open a new account with Storewards. Though this does not mean that the app itself is closing down.

You simply need to wait until registration re-opens.

Storewards only accepts a limited number of users at a time. This is common with market research companies and panels.
