I’ve been making money online since 2019 and tried Nielsen to see what it’s like. I made £55 in my first year. This doesn’t sound like much, but it’s passive income. Below are all the details.

Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel works like most other internet-monitoring and data-selling companies. You need to install software or a mobile app on your computer or phone and leave it running in the background.
Periodically, Nielsen will pay you for running its software. Overall, the process is straightforward and requires little effort.
1. Signing up
Signing up and participating in the Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel is free. All you need is a computer or phone connected to the Internet. The Nielsen mobile app may be called “Nielsen Digital Voice” on the App Store or Google Play.
Once you are signed up, you must complete a short survey so Nielsen can learn more about you. Nielsen needs to understand your demographics so they can analyse your internet usage.
2. Earning Points
For your membership with the Nielsen panel, you get paid in points. In total, 200 points are worth £1. The earnings are fixed and are as follows:

3. Getting Rewards
Once you have accumulated sufficient points, you can exchange them for rewards. In the UK, you have the following options:

Amazon voucher
Asda George gift card
Sainsbury’s gift card
M&S gift card
4. Leaving the Panel
Once you join the Nielsen panel, you are not obligated to stay. You can leave whenever you like without being penalised.
Simply follow the instructions to uninstall the software. You may also want to wait until you have enough points to cash out to avoid losing rewards.
My Experience With Nielsen Research
I followed the abovementioned procedure and signed up with the Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel. The first issue was verifying my account. Nielsen would not accept the security code sent to my phone. I had to contact the support team, and the issue took a week to resolve. Not a great start.
However, once I was signed up, I had no further issues. I only connected one device, my laptop. The software runs quietly in the background, so most of the time, I didn’t notice it.
Overall, I earned £55 during my first year with Nielsen Rewards. I uninstalled the software because my laptop slowed down. I don’t think it had to do with Nielsen. The cause was likely the age of my laptop.

How much you can earn by participating in the Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel depends on how many devices you connect. Nielsen states that you can earn up to £63 during your first year of membership for one device. You can earn more if you win prizes.
