What Is Honeygain?
Honeygain lets you earn money by sharing their internet connection. It is a crowd-sourced residential proxy network. This means businesses can use your unused internet connection for market research. When using your connection, Honeygain doesn’t access your data.
Honeygain is a US-based company founded in 2018. The app is available in over 150 countries and has over 250,000 users.
Is Honeygain Legit?
Honeygain is legit and not a scam. The company behind Honeygain is Swarmbytes Inc. On Trustpilot, Honeygrain has an average score of 4.5 out of 5.0. Overall, 86% of users rated the platform as great or excellent. Negative reviews seem to be mainly about the waiting time for content delivery.

What Is Trustpilot?
Overall, there are over 150 million reviews on Trustpilot. You can generally get a good understanding of the legitimacy and customer-friendliness of a company.
Is Honeygain Safe?
Honeygain is safe. The app doesn’t collect data and doesn’t track web searches. To work, Honeygain only needs your:
- Email address
- IP address
- Chosen payout methods
You, as the user, have control over the app. You can quit it whenever you like and manage how much bandwidth you share.
The Honeygrain app connection is encrypted. Honeygain checks its clients during the KYC process. This ensures companies don’t abuse your connection.
Is Content Delivery on Honeygain Safe?
Content Delivery on Honeygain is safe. Content Delivery is a feature of Honeygain, letting you earn more by allowing data-heavy processes. It follows the same safety and security standards as normal usage of Honeygain.
How Does Honeygain Work?
Using Honeygain is free. When signing up to Honeygain, you need to install an app on your device. You can download it from the Google Play Store, the Apple Store, or the website.
1. Linking Devices
You can connect laptops, computers, or mobile phones. You can connect up to ten devices. If you reach the maximum number of devices, you can upgrade your account to Swarmbytes. Swarmbytes lets you better monetise your connection.
I installed Honeygain on my Macbook. Most of the time, it’s just an icon in the menu bar. If you click on it, the app looks like this:

Once activated, you can let the app run in the background while you do your thing. You will accumulate credits (CR) for your shared bandwidth as it runs.
2. Getting a Payout
You can cash out at $20 (20,000 credits). Honeygain pays via PayPal, and the fee for this is $1 plus 2% for non-US residents. Tipalti, a third-party payment platform, processes your payout. If you need to convert from US dollars to your local currency, there is an additional 2.5% fee.
You can no longer cash out in Bitcoin.
How to Earn With Honeygain
1. Share Your Internet
Sharing your internet bandwidth is the main way to make money on Honeygain. To do this, you must let the app run in the background. For 10 MB of traffic, you earn 3 credits. One credit is worth $0.001, meaning you need 1000 credits to earn $1.
2. Activate Content Delivery
Content Delivery is an optional feature on the Honeygain app. Content Delivery means you allow Honeygain to use your connection for heavier tasks, including:
- Videos
- Large images
- Content-heavy websites
You will earn 6 credits per hour in addition to your normal sharing earnings. Note that you will only earn money from content delivery if your status is “active”. You won’t get paid if you are in the queue.
Content Delivery is not available in all countries. It also requires Windows and macOS devices with ISP or MOB usage-type IP addresses.
Honeygain Content Delivery in Queue
When you activate Content Delivery, you join a queue. Content Delivery doesn’t activate until you finish queuing. How long you’ll stay in the queue depends on your location and the demand.
For me, the first time I activated Content Delivery, I had to queue for five hours. The following times, the queue was shorter, making me wait for less than an hour.
3. Lucky Pot
The Lucky Pot is a mini-giveaway on the Honeygain website. Users can win up to 10,000 credits ($10) every day. To enter the draw, you must share at least 15 MB daily. On the web platform, a countdown indicates how much time you have left to share the required amount.
4. JumpTask Mode
Honeygain partnered with JumpTask. JumpTask is an online marketplace where companies can outsource tasks such as data entry to JumpTask users. The concept of the site is similar to Appen.
As part of the partnership, users can switch to getting paid in JumpTokens. You can exchange JumpTokens for money or cryptocurrencies through the JumpTask wallet. Switching to JumpTask mode gives you a 10% bonus on your Honeygain earnings.
5. Honeygain Referral Program
Honeygain offers a profitable friend referral scheme. If a friend signs up to Honeygain through your link, they get $5 free cash. In return, you earn 10% of your friend’s earnings daily. You get a passive income source if your friend becomes an active Honeygain user.

How Much Money Can You Make With Honeygain?
Honeygain is a great source of passive income, but it won’t make you rich. Users on Reddit report being able to make $100 per month from Honeygain. This is the extreme end of the spectrum; most users make much less than that.
How much you can earn with Honeygain also depends on your location. Bandwidth from some countries is more in demand than that from other countries.
According to Honeygain, if you share 10 GB of data per day, you earn $30 per month.

Honeygain enables users to make extra money by sharing their internet connection. Third-party businesses can then use your bandwidth for their purposes. This includes market research, SEO, and cybersecurity.
