This Airtime Rewards review covers the app’s features, pros and cons, and whether it’s worth using. Paying phone bills is annoying for anyone. Airtime Rewards promises to improve the experience by giving you money off your bill. But is it that easy?
Airtime Rewards was one of the first money-saving apps I downloaded. Since 2019, I’ve made £58.10 with the app. It’s not a lot of money, but I earned it without lifting a finger.

What Is Airtime Rewards?
Airtime Rewards is an app used to earn money with cashback. It lets you save money on your mobile phone bill. The app is free and works for contracts with monthly payments and pay-as-you-go. You can download it from the Apple Store or the Google Play Store.
Airtime Rewards was founded by Josh Graham and Adam Ward in 2016. It aims to connect “transactional data, brands, and mobile networks […] for a shared mutual benefit”.
Is Airtime Rewards Legit?
Airtime Rewards is legit and not a scam. I have received all my payouts so far, although I sometimes have to nudge customer support.
On Trustpilot, Airtime Rewards has an average score of 4.4 out of 5.0. Overall, 95% of users gave Airtime Rewards the highest ratings (great or excellent).

What Is Trustpilot?
Overall, there are over 150 million reviews on Trustpilot. You can generally get a good understanding of the legitimacy and customer-friendliness of a company.
Is Airtime Rewards Safe?
Many people don’t like linking their bank cards to a third-party service. However, linking your card to Airtime Rewards is low risk, and you’ll never be charged. Airtime Rewards states the following:
“To earn rewards you’ll need to link your debit or credit card to the app. This is so we can automatically reward you every time you shop. Your security is our top priority and your card details are kept secure and encrypted. We won’t charge you a penny.”
Airtime Rewards
How Does Airtime Rewards Work?
Airtime Rewards is a cashback app. After you download it, you only need to link your card. Airtime Rewards awards cashback if you shop at the app’s partners.
For the retailer, this is a form of advertisement. They’re happy to give you cashback, hoping you’ll spend more at their store. Yet, there is no obligation for you to do so.
You’ll get your cashback paid into your app account. When you hit £10, you can claim your rewards. Airtime Rewards automatically deducts the money from your next phone bill.

Which Cards and Networks Can You Use with Airtime Rewards?
Airtime Rewards works with Visa and Mastercard. You can get money off your phone bill with the following networks:
- EE
- Giffgaff
- O2
- Three
- Vodafone
When you add a new card, it takes up to 24 hours for it to become approved.
How Much Can You Earn With Airtime Rewards?
There is no limit on how much money you can earn with Airtime Rewards. Yet, you cannot redeem more cashback than your phone bill costs.
Retailers pay between 1% and 15% cashback. Others offer a fixed sum rather than a percentage. How much you earn depends on your spending at eligible retailers.
How Long Does It Take to Get Paid With Airtime Rewards?
Transactions take up to 14 days to track. Then, you need to wait between 35 and 90 days before you get your reward. You must accumulate £10 to be eligible for a payout. How long it takes to reach the withdrawal threshold depends on your spending. A rough estimate would be one to six months.

Airtime Rewards Payment Proof
I previously used Vodafone and received two payouts from Airtime Rewards. Both were fine. All I had to do was tap Payout and confirm my request. I received a confirmation text message, and my next phone bill was £10 cheaper than normal.

Now, I have changed to Three. I still get my payouts fine. However, I often have to contact customer support and request a code. This is a bit annoying. The app worked much better with Vodafone.
Friend Referral Scheme
Airtime Rewards review has a friend referral program. Your friends receive £0.50 for signing up and £1.00 for purchasing at an eligible retailer. When your friend signs up, you get the same benefits. £0.50 for the sign-up and £1.00 for an eligible purchase.
To get the full bonus, the first purchase has to be made within seven days of signing up. If you want to get a bonus, use my code BVPJVUG6 when signing up.
Get Cashback on Gift Cards with Airtime Rewards

Frequently Asked Questions
What Do I Do if a Transaction Is Missing?
If a transaction is missing, you have to wait for 14 days. If it is still not there, fill in the claim form. You can find the claim form in the app under “More” and “Missing Transactions”. You need to provide the receipt, showing the last four digits of the card used to make the purchase.
Can I Stack Airtime Rewards With Other Offers?
Because Airtime Rewards tracks spending from your bank account, you can stack. it with other offers. For example, you can scan your grocery shopping receipts for additional money. Airtime Rewards also works with a bank account that gives you cashback on card purchases.
Alternatives to Airtime Rewards
Personally, I am a fan of Airtime Rewards. However, if you do not like it, you can reduce your phone bill in other ways.
1. Change Your Provider
If you are on a contract, contact your current provider. You can enquire about cheaper contracts, provided you are past the minimum contract duration. A more forceful approach is to say you want to leave because you found a cheaper plan. Your provider may offer you a reduced rate.
2. Use Wi-Fi When Available
Another way to reduce your phone bill is to use less data. Reduce your phone usage or connect to Wi-Fi whenever it is available. Many public places offer free Wi-Fi.
3. Stay Away from Payment Plans
The cheapest way to buy a phone is to buy it outright. There may be exceptions, but you can calculate whether a payment plan works out cheaper.
Owning your phone outright may require saving, but the savings potential is enormous. Find out how often you should get a new phone.
4. Install MobileXpression
MobilXpression is a market research organisation that pays you to install tracking software. The software monitors the apps you use and the websites you visit. Read more in my MobileXpression review.
5. Use Honeygain
Honeygain is another passive-income app. Honeygain pays you for using your unused bandwidth. Read more in my Honeygain review.
