My Matched Betting Earnings 2019-2022

This matched betting income report details how I make money from matched betting. The amounts listed are my personal earnings. You may be able to earn more or less than me, depending on your time, effort, and bankroll.

Year 1 (2018-2019)

I started matched betting in September 2018 with £10. Curiosity led me to start but matched betting quickly became my hobby and side hustle. During my first 12 months of matched betting, I made £9629. My profit for each month was as follows:

My profit came from the following offers:

Football Offers

On average, I made £304 from football-related offers. The majority of this came from sports offers of the major leagues. 10bet and PartyPoker, in particular, gave me good reloads.

A few bookmakers offered long-term offers, resulting in an influx of free bets. Apart from this, I did the regular football offers, 2ups and Bet & Get offers.

Horse Racing Offers

I made £175 profit from horse racing offers. This money came from second-place refunds and extra places. You can find matches for these offers with OddsMonkey’s Matchers.

Profit From Other Sports

I usually do not get involved with other sports. Some Bet & Get offers are good, but usually, I use football or horses for the resulting free bet.

Profit From Casino Offers

On average, £101 per month came from slot offers. The actual amount I made each month varies, though. Some months, I hardly did anything and had bad luck. In others, I did a lot and won big. I mainly do low-risk offers but sometimes venture into medium- or high-risk offers.

The slot offers I completed were Galabingo’s Happy Wheel and Sky’s daily casino offers. For more slot offers, I look at OddsMonkey’s Daily Offer list. I do not make a lot of other casino offers. Mostly, I use blackjack for wagering, and occasionally, Ladbrokes gives me casino bonuses.

Profit from Other Offers

I am not a fan of bingo; in fact, I hate it. Bingo has too much variance, and the return to player (RTP) is not great. However, I played free bingo from the BuzzBingo free game daily.

When auditing my accounts, sometimes I find some extra money or lost some money from matched betting mistakes. As I am £113 up in this category, I probably had a few best odds guaranteed (BOGs) that I overlooked.

Year 2 (2019-2020)

In Year 2 (September 2019 to August 2020), I made £2736 from matched betting. As you remember, COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March 2020, and most sports paused.

This was when I decided to focus on blogging rather than matched betting as my main side hustle. Matched betting is great, but I enjoy blogging and helping others. Despite this, I still made £2736 or £228 per month.

Offers I did

I started Year 2 with 48 gubbings (suspended accounts). Walking along the high street, I sometimes joke with friends, “Oh, it’s Bookmaker x, I’m banned there”. At least I learned the more advanced offers this way!

While I still got some Bet & Get offers, most of my profits in Year 2 came from extra place offers and 2ups. Most bookmakers pay extra places even when your account is gubbed.

Year 3 (2020-2021)

In Year 3 (September 2020 to August 2021), I switched to Profit Accumulator (now Outplayed). This came after writing a comparison of OddsMonkey and Outplayed. OddsMonkey is still great, and if you like it, stick with it. I found Outplayed met my needs better at the time.

I have also become more casual about matched betting. MyMoneyYard picked up and is now almost a full-time job. My average earnings for Year 3 were £102 per month, meaning £1224 in total. This money came mostly from extra places and 2ups.

Year 4 (2021-2022)

I’m not officially matched betting anymore. However, I still regularly get some bets in to stay up-to-date with the matched betting world. My blog is my full focus now.
