This post tells you all about Asda’s George Rewards program. You’ll learn how it works and whether it’s worth using. George’s loyalty program can help you save money, but you must understand it to take advantage.

I’ve reviewed and used customer loyalty programs of all major supermarkets in the UK. George Rewards isn’t my favourite, but here’s what I found.

💡 Quick Answer: Asda George Rewards

George Rewards is Asda’s loyalty scheme for its clothing range. You can only use George Rewards points on the George website. It has limited offers, and overall, the program is not worth joining.

What Is Asda George Rewards?

George is Asda’s clothing range. The name goes back to its origin. George at Asda was established based on a partnership between George Davies and Asda. Asda stated in 2019 that George Rewards was a trial scheme, but little has changed since then.

George Rewards is a loyalty program for George. You can collect points when buying from George online and completing tasks. Then, you can redeem your points for discounts.

George was founded in 1989 and sold to Walmart in 1999 alongside Asda. Yet, it is still available online and in British Asda supermarkets.

George Rewards Is Legit

George Rewards is legit. However, George does not work like other reward programs, which confuses customers. For starters, George Rewards only apply to purchases from the George website. You cannot use it in-store or for other goods at Asda. Reward points also do not have a monetary value.

The limitations may make it feel like a scam. In reality, it is just an incredibly limited scheme.

George also is not popular on Trustpilot, with an average score of 1.6 out of 5.0. Overall, only 16% of users rated George as great or excellent. Many users complain about delivery delays and refund issues.

George Rewards reviews on Trustpilot

What Is Trustpilot?

Trustpilot is an independent consumer review platform. It has no affiliation with the sites mentioned in this post. On Trustpilot, users can anonymously rate and review companies they have used.

Overall, there are over 150 million reviews on Trustpilot. You can generally get a good understanding of the legitimacy and customer-friendliness of a company.

How Does Asda George Rewards Work?

With Asda George Rewards, you can earn points by purchasing at George online or completing various tasks. Then, you can use these points to unlock specific discounts or other rewards.

Joining George Rewards is free. You’ll sign up automatically when creating an account with George. Unlike other loyalty schemes, no physical card exists, and you can’t convert points to cash.

When redeeming your points, you can only use George’s offers. Currently, only one offer is available:

Rewards on the George website

There Are 5 Ways to Earn Rewards Points

1. Making a Purchase

You will get one point for each pound you spend on the George website. For example, if you buy something worth £30, you will get 30 points. Considering that you need 100 points to unlock the lowest-worth offer, this is not a generous conversion rate.

Luckily, you can boost your point balance through other means. Get extra points on your shopping if you:

  • Place your order between 12 AM and 12 PM
  • Use Click & Collect
  • Collect at a later date

2. Writing a Review

Writing a review awards 20 George points. You can only leave a review for products you bought and only have six months to do it.

3. Sharing Your Birthday

You get 20 points for inputting your birthday and month. George will also send you a special treat on your birthday. Find out what other freebies you can get on your birthday.

4. Referring Friends

For each friend you refer, you get 50 points. You can only refer ten friends, earning you a maximum of 500 points. Getting these points is easy, as all your friend has to do is create an account. Thus, you can ask people to sign up even if they never want to use George.

5. Enabling Notifications

Sign up to receive notifications, and you get an extra 20 points. However, notifications might tempt you to overspend and cost you more than you earn. Turning off notifications is essential if you want to stop excessive online shopping.

How Much Are George Points Worth?

George points do not have a monetary value. You can’t convert them to cash; you can only use them to unlock offers. At the moment, the following offers are available:

DiscountPoints Needed
Exclusive discount15%100
Extra discount on sale items10%120
George rewards.

Because the discount is a percentage, how much value you get out of this depends on how much you buy. For example, if you spend £50, a 15% discount would give you £7.50 off. In this case, one George point would be worth around £0.80.

How Do I Redeem My George Rewards?

You can redeem George Rewards points on the George website. You can find the option under “Unlock”. From there, select the offer you want to claim.

Click “Unlock the Reward” and shop as usual. Eligible items have a yellow box, and you’ll get the discount at checkout. The offer has an expiration date that you can see in the Rewards section. If you do not shop within the timeframe, your points return to your balance. George points expire 12 months after your last log-in.

You cannot redeem George points in-store on other parts of the Asda website.
