But is Lidl Plus worth it? I downloaded the app and went on a shopping trip to find out. Here are the results.
Lidl Plus helps you save money on your grocery shopping at Lidl. While every bit helps, Lidl’s app could have more discounts. It’s also a little hard to use.
Lidl Plus is Lidl’s customer loyalty scheme. Join and use this scheme through the Lidl Plus app to get discounts on groceries. The Lidl Plus app is free to use. Lidl’s reward scheme, Lidl Plus, was launched in the UK in 2020. All Lidl stores in the UK participate in the Lidl Plus program.
On Google Play, Lidl Plus is the seventh most popular shopping app.
Lidl Plus Is a Legit Supermarket App
Lidl Plus is legit. The app belongs to Lidl, and no third party other than Lidl’s certified billing partner is involved. Lidl is a legit company that has been active in the UK since 1994.
When you use Lidl Plus, the app stores your data on a secure server. Lidl states that they use “bank-level encryption and security mechanisms”.
How Does Lidl’s Digital Rewards Card Work?
Lidl Plus works similarly to other reward schemes. Scan your Lidl card at the till when shopping at Lidl. The Lidl Plus card is a digital rewards card within the app.
Lidl Plus works on iPhone and Android phones. Upon signing up, the app needs the following data from you:
Email address
Full name
Date of birth
Address and gender (both optional)
Phone number
Your local Lidl store
2. Using Lidl Plus Coupons
Once signed up, you can take advantage of the coupons. Browse all coupons in the Coupon tab and activate those that you want to use. You have to tab “Activate” manually. Otherwise, the coupons won’t work.
Lidl coupons change every Thursday. Currently, the app offers the following coupons:

3. Using Scratch Cards
You get a scratch card if you scan your digital Lidl Plus card. Find it in the Home section of the app. If your scratch card is a winner, you get a coupon for up to £20.

The Lidl Plus app also has a section for partner offers. These are offers from companies partnered with Lidl. Many of these offers will not be relevant, or you can find better details online.

Can You Add Receipts to Lidl’s App?
You cannot currently add receipts to Lidl Plus. If you want to use the card, you must scan it at the checkout. Adding receipts to the app would be a great feature. I hope Lidl will add it in the future.
Can You Get a Physical Lidl Plus Card?
You can’t get a physical Lidl Card. Lidl only offers a digital card within the app. You’ll need the app or a screenshot of your card to use it.
Can You Carry Over Your Coupon Plus Monthly Spending?
You can’t carry over your Coupon Plus monthly spending. Each coupon only lasts for one month. The app will reset after.
Do Other UK Supermarkets Offer Alternatives to Lidl Plus?

Lidl Plus App Review Summary
Lidl Plus is Lidl’s loyalty scheme, which you can use to save money when shopping at Lidl. It is one of the best supermarket loyalty schemes in the UK. Activate the coupons you want to use and scan your Lidl Plus card whenever you shop.
The app has few coupons, and savings will likely be small. However, Lidl Plus is free, so you may as well use it.
